Level 2 Electrician
Accredited Level 2 Electrical Work for Penrith and the Blue Mountains
AJB Electrical Group provides Level 2 electrical services across Penrith and the Blue Mountains, including Katoomba, Blaxland and Springwood. From 3 phase power upgrades to Endeavour Energy defect repairs, our local team gets it done right.
Why Some Electrical Jobs in Greater Sydney Need a Level 2 Electrician
A general electrician can work on everything inside your property, from the switchboard to the power points. The moment a job touches the supply coming in from the street, you need an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) Level 2 electrician. That covers overhead and underground service lines, consumer mains, private power poles, metering, and disconnecting or reconnecting supply. AJB Electrical Group holds Level 2 accreditation, so we can complete the whole job ourselves without bringing in a second contractor.
Call us with your address and what you need, and we’ll tell you what the job involves.

Endeavour Energy Defect Notice? Here Is What Happens Next
Your local electricity distributor inspects the lines and connections running to each property. If something you own fails inspection, they issue a defect notice and set a date for the repair. Common reasons include a service cable sagging too close to a roof or driveway, branches in contact with the line, a rotting or leaning private pole, a loose point of attachment on the house, or a damaged meter box. The property owner is responsible for the fix, and only a Level 2 electrician can carry it out.
We start by reading the notice and checking the defect on site. You’ll get a written quote that covers that item only. Once the repair is done, we lodge the completion paperwork so the notice can be closed. If we notice another problem while we’re there, we’ll point it out and leave the decision with you.

In business since 2008. We're a family owned company, and Level 2 work has been part of our business for most of that time.
Homes, commercial sites and construction projects. We connect new builds, upgrade older houses and supply power to commercial premises.
Certified by Endeavour Energy and Ausgrid, which means we work to the connection rules that apply across Penrith and the Blue Mountains.
Our Level 2 ASP team is authorised to work on service lines, mains, poles and metering, which a standard electrical licence does not cover.

Level 2 Experience Built Over Many Years of Projects
A typical Level 2 job involves more than the work on site. There’s the connection application, coordination with the distributor, sometimes a planned outage, then the install itself and the certification at the end. We’ve managed that process for homeowners replacing a failing overhead service, landlords dealing with defect notices on rental properties, and builders who need temporary builders’ supply followed by a permanent connection. Because we handle each stage ourselves, you get one point of contact from quote to completion.

Why Level 2 Accreditation Matters for Your Property
- Legally authorised to work on the supply between the street and your property
- Able to submit the required notifications and completion documents
- Work carried out to AS/NZS 3000 and the NSW Service and Installation Rules
- Experience across residential, commercial and construction Level 2 projects
Service lines and mains carry power right up until the supply is isolated, so a mistake here can start a fire or cause a serious electric shock. That’s why NSW only allows accredited Level 2 electricians to do this work. If someone without accreditation does it, your insurance may be affected, and the job may have to be redone before your power can be reconnected.
As a Level 2 electrical contractor near you, we handle both the electrical work and the compliance steps. Homeowners can book us as a residential Level 2 electrician for upgrades and repairs. Builders and businesses can engage us as a commercial Level 2 electrician for site connections and larger supply upgrades.

3 Phase Power Upgrades for Penrith and Blue Mountains Properties
Single phase supply has a limit. If you’re adding ducted air conditioning, a fast EV charger, a large solar and battery system, a pool and spa, or workshop machinery, you may find breakers tripping or your solar export capped. A 3 phase connection splits the load across three supply lines and gives the property much more available capacity.
The upgrade involves an application to Endeavour Energy, a new or upgraded service line, a meter change and, in most cases, switchboard work. We manage all of it. Businesses often pair it with commercial electrical upgrades, and homeowners often combine it with residential electrical upgrades such as a new switchboard. To check whether your property needs it, read should I upgrade to 3 phase power in Sydney or send us a list of what you plan to run.

Trusted Level 2 Electrician Across Penrith and the Blue Mountains
Penrith continues to grow, with new estates, knockdown rebuilds and businesses adding equipment to older buildings, and each of these can call for a new connection or a supply upgrade. The Blue Mountains, including Katoomba, Blaxland and Springwood, bring different jobs. Many homes there have overhead service lines running through tree cover, and steep or long blocks often rely on private poles. Branches and storms can damage those lines, so they need regular attention.
